ABOUT WEST SPRING STUD
West Spring Stud is situated in the semi rural village of Kemsing near Sevenoaks, Kent. It functions as a small equestrian training facility focusing on purebred Spanish horses.
The Pura Raza Espanola or PRE is a horse of characteristic ability and beauty. He is graceful and dignified, sensitive and intelligent. Naturally self-balanced and possessing an aptitude for education, the PRE is the ultimate riding horse.
The objectives of West Spring Stud are simple. They are to produce their horses to the highest standards and to help others achieve the same.
DISPLAYS AND COMPETITIONS
As a member of the El Caballo de Espana riding display team, Lorri Ould has ridden at Olympia, the N.E.C., Addington Equestrian Centre, London Excel the Dublin Showground and Castle Ashby.
Numerous showing wins include the British Association for the Purebred Spanish Horse (BAPSH) show at Hartpury, the Royal Windsor Horse Show, the Lusitano Breed Society Show, Suffolk County, Edenbridge and Oxted Show, Chertsey Agricultural Show, Fourwinds and the Cranleigh Show. These successes have been with a number of different horses in Spanish costume, ridden English and in-hand.
Dressage is seen as a way of gauging the progress of the training and is also part of establishing the groundwork of rehabilitation for some horses.
CLINICS
Lorri Ould has been a friend and pupil of the internationally renown dressage trainer, Peter Maddison-Greenwell, since first meeting him in 1996. As an invited member of his riding team in 2002, Lorri has maintained a dedicated approach to learning the art of training horses. West Spring Stud was formed to help realise this objective and to assist other riders to achieve their own rewarding partnerships.
West Spring Stud welcomes Peter on a monthly basis for a two-day clinic which is open to ALL levels of riders and horses of ANY breed. Peter teaches every aspect of work from basic in-hand, novice levels though to lateral movements and High School or Grand Prix.
